Thursday, 21/12/2023

The Alba MBA is the first program in Greece to incorporate in its curriculum Oracle NetSuite, the leading cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) system in the world, enhancing its students skills’ development and addressing the needs of modern businesses.

Alba, as a member of Oracle Academy, Oracle’s global philanthropic educational program, leverages its access to Oracle NetSuite to enrich its Financial Management Applications course.

Prof. Stefanos Zarkos cooperated with Oracle and NetU Group, leading IT solutions provider and certified Oracle NetSuite partner, to hold a guest lecture, demo and hands-on exercise on NetSuite, delivered on 11 December, 2023.

Mr. Christos Tattis, Senior Commercial Manager of NetU Group, provided an overview of ERP systems, focused on their contribution to financial management’s evolution, and elaborated on the transformational benefits companies gain from using modern ERP systems, such as real-time data integration, measuring operational KPIs, and breaking information silos within the organizations. Mr. Tattis’ presentation also highlighted obstacles and challenges related to the successful implementation of ERP systems, emphasizing the role of IT solutions providers as catalysts in the digital transformation process of businesses.

The second part of the lecture was delivered by Mr. Antonis Antoniadis, Oracle NetSuite ERP Team Leader at NetU Cyprus, who presented the basic functions of the Oracle NetSuite platform and ran an exercise for students to gain hands-on experience with the platform. Our MBA students had the opportunity to witness the flexibility and adaptability of the platform in accommodating the peculiarities found in different companies, including operational processes, reporting requirements, and intra- as well as inter-company coordination of business activities.

We were also honored by the presence of Mrs. Eleni Tsipa, Oracle Academy Program Manager & Social Impact Specialist, GCMM cluster of Oracle Hellas; Mrs. Maria Metaxogeni (Alba Alumna, MSc in SHRM, 2014), NetSuite Channel Manager, Adriatics & GCM clusters of Oracle; and Mr. Jordan Barmpis, Business Development Manager of NetU Hellas.
