Vassilis Vlachos is a Tax Partner in Grant Thornton with a professional career of more than 25 years. He is an Attorney at Law at the Supreme Courts of Greece and teaches taxation law at the post-graduate program “MSc in Business for Lawyers” at Alba Graduate Business School. He has also published articles in legal and financial publications, such as “Synigoros” “Kathimerini” etc. During the course of his career, Vassilis has provided services to Greek and foreign enterprises in all business sectors. His expertise lies mainly in corporate and international tax matters with emphasis in EU tax law. He is highly experienced in corporate tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, tax incentives legislation, state aid rules etc. He was a member of the group of experts of the Greek Ministry of Economy for the amendment of L. 89/1967 so as to make it compatible with the EU state aid legislation. He is also a member of the Athens Bar Association.
