Davina Stanford

Davina is currently working as a freelance sustainable tourism specialist. Prior to a return to consultancy work, she was Course Director of the postgraduate Responsible Tourism Management programme at Leeds Beckett University and led on the development of the online course. During her time at Leeds Beckett Davina took the strategic lead for teaching and research projects for the Masters programme and also engaged in a number of external consultancy projects. On behalf of UNWTO Themis, she led on a programme of capacity building workshops both on and offline for destination managers in Lithuania. Davina has also authored and co-authored several academic publications with a focus on destination management and have been an invited keynote speaker to talk to destination stakeholders about my work. Davina is an experienced tourism consultant and has worked for TEAM Tourism, where she was involved in more than 30 consultancy projects, primarily focussing on best practice in destination management. She currently combines consultancy work and freelance teaching with her role as one of the Directors of the Ninki Nanka Foundation (NNF), a CIC focussing on tourism development in The Gambia.
