Miquel Roca

Miquel is a Member of the Law Society of England and Wales and a Solicitor of the Senior Courts. He holds a PhD in Law from the Abat Oliba CEU University in Barcelona, with a special distinction in European Doctorate and a Cum Laude distinction. He also holds a Diploma in Biblical Theology from the University of Navarra, Spain. He is the Managing Partner at the London based maritime law firm LMA Legal (www.lmalegal.co.uk) He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Maritime Law Association for 7 years and it is now a member of the British Maritime Law Association. He is the Vice-President of the IberoAmerican Maritime Law Institute (IIDM), UK Branch; a Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association and the Maritime Law Professor at ALBA University in Athens. Miquel has been appointed Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) which, on behalf of the Kingdom of Spain, signed the Rotterdam Rules. Miquel has published numerous articles as well as two books: “An Introduction to London Maritime Arbitration" (2nd Edition, Thomson Reuters) and "The Ship Registry of Vatican City State" (CEU Editions). Miquel speaks Spanish, English, German and Greek. Outside the office he is an active boxer and studies Greek at the St. Athanasios Greek School in the UK.
