George Tsiakas is the Social Media Lead and Customer Stories Lead at Microsoft for Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, and a teaching fellow at Alba. At Microsoft he is part of the Marketing Organization where he is leading efforts on Digital Marketing through Social Media and Employee Advocacy whilst he is also leading Executive Thought Leadership programs for outbound communications. He is also the region’s Customer Stories program lead where he liaises with Microsoft’s customers to produce, publish and promote customer content/stories related to Microsoft solutions - and their application as such. He is also a teaching fellow at Alba, where he designs and teaches Digital Marketing courses by applying his wealth of both strategic and hands-on expertise on the Digital Marketing front. Apart from Business to Business (B2B) experience at Microsoft, George possesses a wealth of Digital Marketing and Media experience on the Business to Consumer (B2C) front, through his past tenure at Mattel. There he led the Digital Marketing activities for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region spanning roles in Digital Media, Websites/ Publisher, Social Media and other Digital Marketing disciplines, for Mattel’s brands like Barbie, Hot Wheels and Fischer-Price. George was also involved in Entrepreneurship as he has also worked in Business Development (selling digital media and services) and was a Partner at Addo Digital - a Digital Marketing Agency which he co-founded. He began his career in advertising at OMD (Omnicom Media Group) - the media agency network where he established the Digital Department of the company and was appointed Head of Digital, serving multiple clients of the network.
