Yannis (Ioannis) Angelou

Dr. Yannis (Ioannis) Angelou, is a journalist, communication consultant, and postdoctoral. As an adjunct lecturer at the University of Western Macedonia, he shares his insights in communication and digital media. Currently serving as the Head of Advertising, Press & Social Media Dpt at TIF-HELEXPO, the national organizer of exhibitions, conferences, and cultural events in Greece since August 2023, Yannis is also a member of the Macedonian and Thrace’s Union of Journalists since 2005. With over two decades of experience in radio, TV stations, newspapers, magazines, and online media, Yannis has collaborated with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation and the Municipal Radio Station of Thessaloniki. His diverse experiences include working with BBC World and ARD in Germany. Notably, he co-founded "Metavasis Modern Communication," providing marketing and communication consulting services. Yannis holds a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Media Communication from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. His research explores the relationship between social media metrics and website traffic. In addition, he earned an Undergraduate Diploma in Political Sciences and a Postgraduate Diploma in Political Analysis from the Political Sciences School of Aristotle University.
