Alexis is the director of AHEAD , the Alba Hub for Entrepreneurship and Development, and a Taching Fellow at Alba. His work focuses on teaching, supporting and researching entrepreneurship and family businesses. He is experienced in instructional design for both academic and non-academic programs related to his fields of interest. He works with entrepreneurs and family business stakeholders in the areas of business modelling, family business sustainability and governance. Alexis holds a BSc in Business Administration from Deree - The American College of Greece, an MSc in Entrepreneurship from the University of Aberdeen and a PgDip in Research Methods from Aberdeen Business School. He teaches at the MSc in Entrepreneurship at Alba, while leading relevant workshops and courses for The Alba MBA and Alba’s Executive Development. He co-deisgned the MSc in Entrepreneurship and has developed a variety of programs for the support of entrepreneurs and family business members. In 2014 he co-created VentureGarden, a project supporting aspiring entrepreneurs with training. mentoring and networking. In 2019 Alexis designed the Craft your Business program for refugee and migrant entrepreneurship that offers training, business coaching and professional services that is delivered in partnership with the International Rescue Committee. Recently he launched the NextGen Mentoring platform for next generation family business members that will be assuming leading roles in their businesses. He represents Alba at the global Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices (STEP) project that explores the entrepreneurial process within business families and generates solutions that have immediate application for family leaders. In the past he managed among other projects the “Beyond Silicon Valley: Growing Entrepreneurship in Transitioning Economies” MOOC for Greece in partnership with Case Western Reserve University Prof. Michael Goldberg, and the Stelios Haji-Ioannou Award for Young Entrepreneurs in Greece. He regularly publishes articles in Greek and international publications, and has contributed to books related to his expertise. He is engaged with the entrepreneurship ecosystem and supports incubators, accelerators and hackathons as a trainer, mentor or judge. Alexis has an extensive experience as an SME and Family Business consultant, while he has worked for Greek listed companies in managerial positions. He serves as a board member at Women on Top, a not for profit that focuses on the professional empowerment of women, an advisory board member at Bizrupt, a not for profit that promotes entrepreneurship on Crete, and an elected board member at the Athens College Alumni Association.
