Elena Koltsaki is a lawyer-mediator based in Greece and a lead mediation trainer at the Bar of Athens Mediators’ Training Institute. She is an accredited Civil/Commercial, Family & Workplace Mediator (UK, USA, Greece) with extensive advanced training in mediation and negotiations (UK & USA - Harvard Negotiation Institute). She holds a PhD in Law and has long experience in counseling, negotiations and litigation. She has been serving as an Expert Advisor to the Hellenic Parliament and as a dispute resolution expert on international projects with ADR Center – Member of Jams International (Italy). Elena lectures in academic institutions in Greece, Cyprus and in various international trainings and has trained over 1500 mediators around the world. She currently sits at the Greek Ministry of Justice Working Group on Mediation, Judicial Mediation and Arbitration and has also served a term of office as a Member of the Mediators’ Accreditation Committee and as a Member of the Legislative Preparatory Committee on Mediation, which introduced the reform on mandatory mediation in Greece in 2018. She is the co-founder of Greek Mediation Institute, one of the leading Greek not for profit organizations for the promotion of mediation in Greece, a Board Member and Vice President International of the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (Chicago, USA) and a member of the General Sub-Committee of the International Mediation Institute’s Appraisal Committee (Netherlands). She is frequently invited as an expert speaker in international conferences and seminars and she also organizes and participates regularly in International Competitions both as a professional judge and as a university coach with distinctions. She works in English/French and has a good understanding of German/Spanish.
