The ‘Thessaloniki Future Leaders Lab – Learnability for Employability’ initiative is launched in Thessaloniki by Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece, under the auspices of the Prefecture of Central Macedonia, with the support of corporations with an important footprint in Thessaloniki.
A Pioneering Learning Experience
The initiative consists of a pioneer learning program that empowers participants with cutting edge knowledge and transferable skills. The program is designed by Alba Executive Development, that has a long tradition in the design and orchestration of Executive Education Programs, in collaboration with the companies that support this innovative knowledge ecosystem.
Connecting the Past and Future of Thessaloniki
The program's overarching goal is to bridge the qualities and the values that have propelled Thessaloniki into a modern innovation hub with the development of shared competencies vital for the city's future growth and the changing world of work.
Targeted Towards Tomorrow's Leaders
The Thessaloniki Future Leaders Lab is designed to serve local university students across a spectrum of disciplines, all seeking to enhance their employability skills within Thessaloniki's thriving business environment. The program is scheduled to commence in February 2024, with the application process set to open in the coming weeks.
Fostering Employability through Learnability
The main goal of the initiative is the development of employability, that is fueled by learnability – a mindset for continuous learning and growth.
The Launch Event: A Collaborative Vision
The launch event, held on October 11th at the Tellogleion Foundation, provided an insight into the program's philosophy and mission. Dean Konstantinos Axarloglou described it as a ‘pioneer initiative of collaboration and co-creation between an educational institution and the dynamic business ecosystem of Thessaloniki, aspiring to support the economy of the Thessaloniki’
Distinguished Attendees and Visionary Partners
The learning event was attended by the Deputy Governor of the Prefecture of Central Macedonia, Mr Konstantinos Gioutikas, the President of ΥΜCA of Thessaloniki, Μr Ioannis Sossidis, the President of the Economic Chamber of Central Macedonia, Mr Vassilis Georgiadis as well as representatives of the organizations that are part of the knowledge ecosystem, as MEVGAL, ELLINIKOS CHRYSSOS, TITAN, ELVAL, ACCENTURE, Microsoft, GEORGAKI & PARTNERS LAW FIRM etc.
Acknowledging the Power of Learning
The representatives of the companies that compose the learning ecosystem of the Thessaloniki Future Leaders Lab, referred to the value of the Program for the development of talent in Thessaloniki, while in the discussion panel that concluded the event, representatives of important public foundations, described initiatives of the foundations with a focus on learning and education and with a significant impact for the community.
Honoring a Source of Inspiration
The learning event was dedicated to Vassiliki Karavakou – Mourmoura, (1966 – 2019), Professor of Philosophy at the University of Macedonia, whose academic work in Philosophy of Education and life-long learning, has been a source of inspiration for the Thessaloniki Future Leaders Lab initiative.
