Dean K. Axarloglou was invited to speak at the first EFMD GN Annual Conference for Central and Eastern Europe that took place on October 8-10 at Warsaw, Poland.
On the third day of the conference, Dean participated in a panel titled “Moving from chance acceptance to effectual transformation” to discuss about the challenges in bridging from change acceptance to institutional transformation.
During his speech Dean pointed out that “ Learning agility, the ability to learn, adapt and apply ourselves in constantly changing, first-time conditions is an attitude towards learning necessary to manage effectively the disruptive nature of our environment.” He also presented the example of Alba’s Executive Development were we “designed a learning model based on which it develops its learning interventions that help learners to explore, discover, design, appreciate, evaluate, reflect and integrate new knowledge, new patterns and new meanings that emerge through disruption.”
In conclusion he stated that “To help program participants develop learning agility, Schools should team up in jointly offering learning interventions that leverage their academic excellence and the uniqueness and tradition of their location”
The EFMD GN Annual Conference for Central and Eastern Europe has been designed to tackle the latest challenges in management education and development. It brought together EFMD members, companies, educational institutions and other associations, offering various perspectives and discussions on the conference theme.
