IAME 2007 CONFERENCE hosted by ALBA

ALBA had the great honor to be the academic coordinator and organizer of the 17th annual Conference of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME), which was held for the first time in Greece, and specifically in Athens, on July 4-6 2007.
 
IAME 2007 attracted 120 academics, as well as senior shipping executives from maritime institutions in 34 countries around the world and covered subject areas including Shipping Economics, Ship Finance, Maritime Policy and Management, Port Policy and Logistics. In addition, senior Government officials and shipping executives were keynote speakers in the Conference, and presented their views and positions on the development and progress of the Greek and International shipping sectors. Spearheading this process, the Greek Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. George Alogoskoufis, was the lead speaker of the Opening Ceremony of the Conference.
