Free career counseling seminar for students from families suffering from the financial crisis

In the framework of ALBA Graduate Business School at The American College of Greece corporate social responsibility, in collaboration with ORIENTUM Career Counselors, ALBA offers a two hours free career counseling seminar to students from families suffering from the current economic crisis.

The title of the seminar is “Vocational guidance – how does the job market work” and is structured as follows: The Job Market, How to choose a faculty or department, Program of courses in university departments, Graduates’ professional rights, Postgraduate programmes, Amendments applied to the new Greek educational system (New High School), University Graduates’ prospects, The “Athene” educational reform plan, Analysis of the Horizon test (a specially designed psychometric tool which will be offered for free to the students)

The seminar is open to Lyceum students as well as to students currently enrolled in the 3rd class of high school. The objective of the seminar is to offer to young people the necessary guidance and tools in order to successfully set out on a vocational career.

During the seminar, students will obtain all the necessary information about tertiary education, faculties and departments and the professions available at the job market. They will also be informed about their professional rights as graduates of the various departments and will acquire useful information on the Greek educational reform plan.

In the context of the seminar, the students will have the chance to take for free a specially designed psychometric test which will help them discover their professional interests and relate them to university departments, thus recognizing specific educational directions that best correspond to their personality.

Applications are strictly for students coming from NGOs, Charity institutions, families of unemployed, orphanages etc.
