For the first time since its inception in 2014, the Orientation event for the sixth intake of the Alba Executive MBA program took place in the historic city of Nafplion. This year’s Orientation was a unique experience, blending cultural exploration with the values of leadership and lifelong learning that the program champions.
The event brought together 22 current students of the EMBA Class of 2026 along with seven alumni-mentors from the previous cohort. Each alumnus was assigned to a small group of new students, offering them a trusted point of contact for support and guidance throughout their studies. This mentorship initiative added a valuable layer of networking, fostering an inspiring sense of community that participants greatly appreciated.
The day’s itinerary included a guided tour of Fougaro, where Dr. Kyriakos Kyriakopoulos, Academic Director of the EMBA, alongside Executive Director Ms. Antonina Kalkavoura, welcomed the attendees and shared insights into the Executive MBA’s philosophy. Later, at the Nafplion branch of the National Gallery, Director Labrini Karakourti captivated students with her tour through Greek art. She guided them through works by celebrated artists such as Gyzis, Iakovidis, and Parthenis, explaining both the artistic techniques and historical context, which added depth to their appreciation of Greece’s path to independence.
As the day drew to a close, everyone gathered at the iconic Arapakos Restaurant by the sea, overlooking Palamidi and Bourtzi, where they shared stories, ideas, and unforgettable moments, celebrating the bonds formed and the collective Alba spirit.
With high praise from all participants, this Orientation marked a perfect start to the academic journey, leaving both students and mentors inspired and connected.
