During the weekend of 20-21 June, Dr. Gabriel Hawawini will be teaching at the ALBA Executive MBA Program the Finance part of the course “Accounting & Finance”.
Dr. Hawawini is a Professor of Finance and former dean of INSEAD (2000-2006). He was the Vice President of the French Finance Association (1984-1986), a member of the editorial board of several academic journals, and the author of twelve books and over seventy research papers. His publications are in the areas of value-based management, risk estimation and asset valuation, portfolio management, and the structure of the financial-services industry. His books include Mergers and Acquisitions in the US Banking Industry and the fourth edition of Finance for Executives: Managing for Value Creation.
This course examines, through a case study, some of the most important corporate financial decisions. The following topics will be covered in class: performance analysis, funding decisions, project evaluation, and company valuation. The underlying theme is valuation and value creation. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to describe the principles of financial management, apply these principles to analyze financial statements in various companies and perform an analysis of financial statements of a firm.
