Alba Graduate Business School, American College of Greece, participated in the closing international conference of the EU funded research project Family Business Successful Succession (FABUSS) which took place at Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) amphitheater on Wednesday, 23/1/2019.
Alba's Dean Professor Kostas Axarloglou addressed the conferences along with Mr. Konstantinos Michalos, President of ACCI, Mr. George Markopouliotis, Head of European Commission Representation in Greece, and Mr. Dimitrios Zervas, President of the Board of Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM).
Professor Axarloglou underlined the crucial role of continuous and life-long learning as a way of adjusting in contemporary volatile corporate environment and the importance of modern management practices for the efficient operation of family businesses.
Project partners from six European countries (Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria, FYROM, Cyprus and Greece) presented project’s results in their countries and the project “legacy” for the future.
A panel of Greek companies that are currently in or have completed the transition phase from one family generation to the other presented their experiences and answered questions on elements of successful (and not-so-successful) passing of the family business management between generations.
