On December 5, 2024 we had the chance to participate at the 20th People Management Executive Seminar, a key event that brought together HR leaders, academics, and professionals to explore the critical role of human capital in fostering sustainable organizational success.
This year, the seminar featured Peter Cappelli, Professor of Management at the Wharton School and Director of the Center for Human Resources. Cappelli shared valuable insights on the current perception of human capital value within organizations, presenting tools that HR leaders can use to highlight the financial implications of inadequate human capital management and the positive outcomes of proper management practices.
In a separate session, Cappelli examined the capabilities and limitations of large language models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, shedding light on their role in job automation and the new demands they create in the workforce. This discussion highlighted the importance for HR professionals to stay ahead of technological advancements and adapt accordingly.
Speakers from diverse sectors further enriched the conversation by examining the interplay between organizational learning, individual growth, and cultural dynamics that drive talent-centered organizations.
As an academic partner, Alba was proud to contribute to the discussion on the pivotal role of higher education in advancing human resource development. Dr. Konstantinos Samiotis, Director of Online Programs Development, represented the institution and showcased our innovative distance-learning programs offered through The Global Campus of The American College of Greece. These programs emphasize flexibility, academic excellence, and enriching cross-cultural experiences.
The seminar served as a vibrant forum for HR professionals to rethink traditional management practices and explore forward-thinking strategies for shaping the future of human capital. Alba's MSc in Strategic HRM was prominently featured, exemplifying our commitment to cultivating leaders who act as strategic investors in human capital—driving business value, fostering sustainable innovation, and championing transformational change.
We are honored to have participated in this impactful event, engaging with thought leaders to exchange insights and ideas. Together, we remain dedicated to empowering organizations to thrive through effective, people-centric management practices.
