2nd #AlbaEntrepreneurs Gathering: A Night of Inspiration, Networking, and Shared Vision

Friday, 07/03/2025

On February 27, Alba Graduate Business School hosted the 2nd #AlbaEntrepreneurs Gathering, a vibrant event that brought together over 30 ambitious Alba students and alumni who are either running their own businesses or actively involved in family enterprises. This exclusive gathering, held on campus, served as a platform for like-minded individuals from diverse graduation years and academic programs to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.

The evening’s highlight was an engaging talk by George Karantonis (MBA ’99), Partner at Metavallon.vc, who shared his remarkable journey from Alba graduate to executive, entrepreneur, consultant, and ultimately venture capitalist. George captivated the audience with insights into his career trajectory, detailing his transition into the world of venture capital. He provided a comprehensive overview of how venture capital firms operate, the intricacies of investment mechanics, and the criteria they use to identify promising startups. Additionally, he offered a glimpse into the dynamic Greek startup ecosystem, shedding light on emerging trends and opportunities.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where participants had the chance to delve deeper into George’s experiences and seek advice on their entrepreneurial ventures. His practical wisdom and candid responses left the audience inspired and equipped with valuable knowledge.

Following the discussion, the event transitioned into a relaxed networking session over pizza and wine. Attendees seized the opportunity to forge meaningful connections, exchange ideas, and reminisce about their time at Alba. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as participants shared their entrepreneurial journeys, challenges, and aspirations.

The #AlbaEntrepreneurs Gatherings are held every two months and are exclusively tailored for members of the #AlbaEntrepreneurs community. These events are co-organized by AHEAD – Alba Hub for Entrepreneurship and Development and the Alba Graduate Business School Office of Advancement – Alumni, reflecting Alba’s commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and lifelong learning among its entrepreneurial community.

Stay tuned for the next #AlbaEntrepreneurs Gathering, where we’ll continue to empower and connect the changemakers of tomorrow.
