Athanassopoulos Nicolaos, Ioannides Leonidas, Angelopoulou Kassiani and Gavriil Georgios were the first ALBA student team to participate in the 2001 European Business Plan of the Year Competition on June 18-19, 2001 in Barcelona, Spain. Their business idea, called 'EASY ISLANDS', made it to the 6 finalists, among IESE Barcelona (Spain), London Business School (UK), INSEAD (France), The Management School, Imperial College (UK), and EM Lyon (France).
This is the first time ever that a Greek Business School is formally invited to participate in this high-caliber event.
The 'EASY ISLANDS' team made an outstanding impression at the Competition, by presenting a solid and innovative business idea. They were praised for their excellent presentation skills, as well as the top quality of their written plan.
The ALBA faculty and staff wish to congratulate the 'EASY ISLANDS' team for their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment.
For this year's 9th Competition, the awards were received by:
* First Prize: The Management School, Imperial College
* First Runner-up: IESE Barcelona
* Second Runner-up: London Business School
* The Gemini Prize for Innovation: INSEAD
