The American College of Greece Research Center (ACG-RC) has joined JUST-CIRCLE (Measuring and Advancing Circular Business Models for a Fair and Sustainable Transition), a newly announced Horizon Europe Innovation Action coordinated by Brunel University of London.
Bringing together 14 partner institutions across nine countries, JUST-CIRCLE will design, test, and validate integrated frameworks for sustainability accounting, lifecycle impact assessment, and responsible circular business-model innovation. The project's findings are expected to help industry and social-economy actors meet the goals of the EU Green Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), while strengthening competitiveness and encouraging wider adoption of circular practices across sectors including agriculture, waste-to-energy, food services, and water reuse.
Within ACG and Alba Graduate Business School, the project is led by Dr. George Batsakis, who serves as lead researcher and principal representative of ACG-RC in the consortium. Under his coordination, ACG-RC's contribution will span several work packages, including circular business models, stakeholder engagement, pilot validation, and impact assessment — reflecting Alba's growing footprint in EU-funded, interdisciplinary research.
JUST-CIRCLE is part of a broader wave of European funding success for ACG-RC, which also includes MULTIPLY-6G, a Research and Innovation Action focused on next-generation wireless networks. Together, these projects underscore ACG's expanding role as a research partner within the European academic and innovation landscape, contributing Greek expertise to some of the most pressing challenges in sustainability and emerging technology.
The project formally launched in June 2026, with its first consortium meeting hosted at Brunel University of London.
JUST-CIRCLE is funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe, Grant Agreement No. 101291392.
