Last week, our Alba MBA students joined the Stage Two Competition with their startup, Greener than Green Technologies, reaching the semi-finals in the Tech & Innovation category! Their success highlights how Alba students bring forward innovations and research-based ventures to new levels of visibility and impact.
Stage Two is a major pan-European startup competition that brings together some of the best ideas coming out of universities across Europe. This year’s event, organized by RWTH Aachen University and HHL Leipzig, hosted 50 startups from more than 20 countries and 40 leading universities.
Our students’ startup, ‘’Greener than Green Technologies’’, was created to turn lab research into real-world solutions for water and wastewater treatment. Their mission? To help industries use water more sustainably and move toward circular business models, where resources are reused instead of wasted.
Greener than Green team, consisting of Myrto Touloupi, Research Specialist, Greener than Green Technologies, Ioannis Kolokouris, Associate Director, Cognity S.A., Kazimir Selianskyi, Head of Billing, Future Founders Cyprus (CO) Limited, Dimitri Iosifidis, CEO, Greener than Green Technologies, stated:
“It was the first time we pitched in such a mature and competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem,” the team shared. “Nonetheless, we feel that both from a technological and business perspective, we are already at an advanced stage.”
The event offered a great experience and fresh perspective, highlighting themes like circular economy and reindustrialization, in line with EU sustainability goals and beyond the usual focus on IT and AI.
