Danae Manika will assume the leadership of Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece, as Executive Dean, effective September 1, 2026. Danae Manika has a long and distinguished career at Brunel University London, having served as Executive Dean of Brunel Business School, a member of the University’s Executive Board, and a professor of marketing.
After graduating from Pierce — The American College of Greece, she studied Marketing in Scotland, completed her master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Texas at Austin, and built her academic career at British universities — Newcastle, Durham, Queen Mary, and, in recent years, at Brunel, where she took over as head of the Business School. By taking on her new role at Alba, Danae Manika returns to the American College of Greece family.
Her research focuses on marketing and communication aimed at behavioral change in the areas of the environment, health, and well-being. Her work has been published in leading international scientific journals and has received over 450,000 pounds in funding. She has also served as a consultant to public agencies and organizations in the United Kingdom and internationally.
Upon assuming her duties, Danae Manika brings to Alba international leadership experience and a perspective that combines academic rigor with practical application—while her presence decisively strengthens the leadership of higher education in Greece.
The President of the American College of Greece, Dr. Ed Wingenbach, welcomes Alba’s new Executive Dean with the following remarks: “Dr. Danae Manika brings to Alba substantial executive leadership in business education, broad international academic experience, and a record of leading complex academic organizations through strategic development and institutional change. Furthermore, as an accomplished scholar, Dr. Manika will hold the rank of Professor. Her work has appeared in leading journals including the Journal of Service Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, European Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Business Research.”
For her part, Dr. Manika stated: “I believe that Greece can evolve into an international hub of knowledge, entrepreneurship, and innovation. This requires investing in people, attracting talent from Greece and abroad, and even stronger connections between education, the business community, and international networks. Alba has the foundation to play a leading role in this effort: academic excellence, close ties to the business community, an international focus, and an educational philosophy that links knowledge with practice.”
