In 2025, The American College of Greece marked 150 years of educational excellence, leadership, and service to society—a milestone reflecting the enduring impact of an institution that has shaped generations of students, educators, and leaders in Greece and beyond.
To commemorate this historic anniversary, ACG collaborated with Maya Tsoclis, who served as narrator and co-scriptwriter; Natassa Blatsiou, director, producer, and co-scriptwriter; and ERT S.A., the film's co-producer, to develop the documentary Mission Sunny Days: From Smyrna to Modern Athens. Drawing on extensive material from ACG's archives provided by ERT S.A., the film chronicles the institution's remarkable journey from its founding in Smyrna in 1875 to its thriving presence in Athens today.
Through archival material, historical footage, and personal testimonies, the documentary captures pivotal moments in ACG's history and highlights the resilience, vision, and commitment that enabled the institution to evolve through periods of profound change while remaining steadfast in its mission.
More than a historical account, Mission Sunny Days reflects the values that have defined ACG for a century and a half: educational excellence, innovation, inclusion, and service. It offers a compelling perspective on the role of education in shaping individuals, strengthening communities, and creating lasting societal impact.
As ACG looks toward the future, the documentary serves as both a reflection on its past and a celebration of the principles that continue to guide its path, captured in its enduring motto, Non ministrari sed ministrare — to serve, not to be served.
We invite you to experience the documentary on ERTFLIX and discover the remarkable story of ACG's first 150 years. Watch it here.
