Panagiotis Korakas is the Executive Director of the Isalos.net initiative and Head of Cultural Heritage and Blue Synergies for the Naftika Chronika magazine archives (published since 1931).

Mr Korakas holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in History from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.

His academic research is focused on Greek and international shipping policy, contemporary maritime history, and the history of business associations.

As head of the Isalos.net team, Mr Korakas has organized and coordinated a multitude of events, conferences and exhibitions that aim towards educating and informing students and young professionals all over Greece regarding the most important aspects of the shipping industry.

Since 2021, he has also been the editor-in-chief of a series of annual special historical editions of Naftika Chronika and has written over 200 articles (printed and online) regarding Greek shipping history.
