Professor of Organizational Behavior
From 2001 to 2009 he was Assistant Professor at London Business School. His research focuses on creativity and its relations with leadership, deviance, play, and tradition. His work has been published in the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Academy of Management Annals, and other leading academic journals. His research has been widely profiled in the popular press, including the Financial Times, Sunday Times, Forbes, CBS News, and Kathimerini.
Among other scholarly contributions, he developed a theory of creative deviance that was awarded Academy of Management Review's Best Article Award, and a metatheory of creative leadership that was finalist for the Academy of Management Annals's Best Article Award. He is included in the Stanford/Scopus list of the most cited scientists worldwide. He is an Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Review and twice recipient of its Outstanding Reviewer Award.
Professor Mainemelis has delivered graduate courses, executive education seminars, and public speeches in the USA, UK, South Africa, South Korea, Dubai, Kuwait, Oman, and several European countries. At Alba, his “Creativity & Innovation” course was awarded the MBA Innovation Award by the Association of MBAs. He served as Chair of the Program & Scientific Committees of the 41st EGOS Colloquium that was hosted at the main campus of the American College of Greece.
