The chair is established with a donation from the TITAN Group and the Papalexopoulos & Canellopoulos family. In addition, a "T. Papalexopoulos Scholarship Scheme" is created with a donation from the P. & A. Canellopoulos Foundation.
Theodore Papalexopoulos, a founding member of Alba, was a pioneer leader in sustainability and had envisioned early on the establishment of a Business School of international standards in the country, to support the development of management talents that would apply sustainability’s principles. This donation contributes both to the development and dissemination of knowledge on sustainability, with the establishment of the endowed Chair, and to the provision of educational opportunities through the Scholarship Scheme. At the same time, it supports Alba in emerging as a hub of knowledge creation and dissemination on sustainability and responsible management and further facilitating T. Papalexopoulos vision and legacy.
More precisely, the donation of the TITAN Group and the Papalexopoulos & Canellopoulos family concerns the establishment of the "The Theodore Papalexopoulos Chair in Sustainability Fund”, while the donation of P. & A. Canellopoulos Foundation concerns the creation of the "Th. Papalexopoulos Scholarship Scheme" (partial merit-based scholarships).
The Chair will fund the academic activities of its Holder, who must be an academic and professor at the Alba Graduate Business School, internationally recognized and with academic record in sustainability. The Chairholder will be conducting research, teaching and disseminating research-based knowledge in the field of sustainability. The first Chairholder will be Dr. Pavlos A. Vlachos, Associate Professor of Marketing, Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece.
