Based on recent government legislative intervention, non-bank lenders are now able to grant home and business loans. For those who are uncritically opposed to the liberalization, let us note that loans to businesses (in the short term) are currently provided by almost all Greek businesses through the so-called commercial credit. This example is given to understand that there is nothing groundbreaking in allowing non-banking businesses to offer credit.
