Leading the digital transformation

 Dr. Gianvito Lanzolla, Professor of Strategy, Cass Business School, City, University of London delivered the second interactive speech of the 2019 – 2020 of The Lead Creatively: Discussion Series

The event, organized by the SEV Center of Excellence in Creative Leadership, took place on Wednesday, October 23 and  tried to asnwer the question "What does digital transformation mean for leading in the digital age?"

In this talk, building on his research with several born-digital companies which have successfully scaled up and with incumbents companies which have embraced the digital transformation, first, Professor Lanzolla highlightred the fundamental changes that the pervasive adoption of digital technologies trigger in a company’s skillset, culture, incentives and structures. He then discussed the implications and the new imperatives for leading people and organizations in the digital age.

Upon completion of his speech and the Q&A seesion, Dr. Lanzolla mentioned that "It was very interesting for me to see so many executives and CXOs having such an intense interest on digital transformation and on the principles to lead their businesses in the digital era. The audience was very engaged and I enjoyed the interaction and the questions throughout the workshop. At the end, participants told me that they had acquired a better understanding of how to build a roadmap to lead the digital transformation, and not to succumb to it!”
