Alba gets ready for Stage Two!

Alba proudly announces that Alba and RWTH Aachen, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group (WIN) signed an MoU for participating at Stage Two Competition/Network of schools. Stage Two is the first pan-European competition for the best startups spinning out of leading European universities. It is a network of Europe’s leading university-affiliated entrepreneurship centers which supports students and researchers to turn their ideas into businesses. The network strives to connect founders across national borders and provide them with access to international markets.

Alba was invited by HHL Graduate School of Management to collaborate and to participate in the implementation of competition’s rounds. In 2021, Stage Two Competition welcomed 2.000 participants, from 30 top universities (such as Imperial College, Technical University of Munich, Rotterdam School of Management, University of St.Gallen, NOVA, Politecnico di Milano etc) from 18 countries, 60 start-ups, 40+ VCs, and 20+ sponsors. Nominated Start-ups teams by each University had to pitch during finals and had access to a European network of investors and industry leaders. Monetary awards of this competition reach 1 million Euros every year.

The 2022 event will take place in October 2022 in Berlin and is organized by RWTH Aachen University and HHL Graduate School of Management.

All partner universities nominate their best early stage teams of the year (e.g., by means of a local venture competition). Teams are evaluated based on (1) innovativeness, (2) scalability and (3) impact on the world of tomorrow.

The jury consists of reputable representatives from venture capital. Faculty from participating schools play the role of coaches for multiple teams from different schools in specially organized sessions.

Alba MBA students have already completed the internal procedure for team selection and soon the winning team will be nominated for the Stage Two Competition by Dr. George Batsakis. The team will participate in the competition rounds and will compete against other early stages start-ups in Berlin.
