ALBA Graduate Business School participates at the first Startup Safary Athens

ALBA Graduate Business School at the American College of Greece has set the first Startup Safary Athens under its auspices and will actively participate by screening a unique documentary about Greek entrepreneurship. 

 The documentary, «Beyond Silicon Valley: Entrepreneurship in Transitioning Economies» will be screened on Saturday, November 22 at 18:00 at the ALBA amphitheater. The documentary consists of nine parts which for the first time will be shown in one piece and will provide a sense of entrepreneurial reality in Greece.

 Through a series of interviews with entrepreneurs, business experts and funders, it covers investment issues, the role of the state and of other organizations, opportunities in agriculture and tourism and many more issues that might concern entrepreneurs. Among the participants are Aristos Doksiadis from openfund, startup investor Apostolos Apostolakis, regional governor of Crete Stavros Arnaoutakis, Revekka Pitsika founder of People for Business, Dimitris Stratakis from Unismack, Charis Makriniotis from Endeavor and Alexandra Choli from Metavallon.   

 ALBA Hub for Enterprise and Development, the entrepreneurship department of ALBA, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Athens and Metavallon, created in spring 2014 this material in order to adapt to the Greek reality the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) using the same course name taught by Professor Michael Goldberg from Case Western Reserve University.

 Startup Safary Athens is a 2-day event where companies open their doors to invite people for various events. After the successful annual event in Berlin, with the participation of the biggest names of the global entrepreneurial scene (Delivery Hero, Hitfox Group, Etsy, Stripe, Kayak, Uber, Bla Bla Car, Startup Bootcamp, Google, Microsoft Ventures), it takes place for the first time in Athens on November 22 & 23 2014 during International Entrepreneurship Week.
